The past: Like most filmmakers, my passion for the craft began at a very early age. An avid illustrator from the time I could hold a colored pencil, virtually all of my inspiration was taken from the movies I grew up watching. It wasn’t until I was 10 that I realized it was an option to make my own movies. As if to foreshadow my signature film style of science-fantasy, it was the ground-breaking VFX wizardry of Jurassic Park that fused my love of art, science, and the awe-inspiring power of cinematic storytelling, and so forged my desire to become a director.

The present: Now operating my own production company, Stoic Pictures, out of my adopted hometown of Brooklyn, New York, in the last ten years I have become something of an all-in-one production/creative company. Still driven by that same passion and enthusiasm for the magic of movies, I’ve applied my creative passion to writing, directing, and editing short films, music videos, and advertisements, while further developing my artistic and design talents to film title sequences, movie posters, award-winning marketing campaigns, and – harkening back to my childhood roots – fine art honoring the films that have inspired me most.

The future: I am currently in development on several short films and music videos to be shot in 2011-2012, as well as a feature-length documentary entitled “Gem Show” following a year in the life of world-famous lapidary artist (and my father) Gregory L. Genovese. Finally, I am putting the finishing touches on my first feature-length original screenplay entitled “Suckers,” a science-fantasy adventure film about religious and environmental fundamentalism. “Suckers” will first debut as a graphic novel written and illustrated by – who else? – myself, and the film will go into development shortly after.

Limited edition Pizza Box Set of The Ninja Always Rings Once, a relentlessly entertaining comedy short about a boy and his ninja. Filmed entirely in New York City, TNARO packs the punch of a feature length ’80s ninja epic in a blistering 30 minutes of chases, off-beat humor, animation, and a dynamic original score by Vesan. Ninjas just got cheesier.

(Note: Yes, I know the credits are cropped at the end, it’s not on purpose, I’m working on a different trailer so I’m not bothering to fix it. Gotta have priorities!)
